In collaboration with Work-Shop, Ooooby is introducing ‘Oooobyversity’ so you yourself can get your hands dirty while learning about all things local.
Ooooby is an online farmers market and not your standard business. Ooooby stands for ‘Out of our own backyards’ and their mission is to rebuild local food economies and make local food convenient, affordable and fair everywhere.
Why? Because they believe that changing the way we produce and distribute food is fundamental to solving the world’s most pressing social and ecological problems.
By running a lean operation, Ooooby can ensure that all participants in the supply chain, from farmers to packers and drivers, are rewarded fairly for their contribution, while customers continue to pay competitive prices. To further their mission of a better food system, all profits are being reinvested into local food production – this also includes profits made from this workshop.
This workshop is divided into 3 core areas of organic food growing for small space city growing. The ideas and activities presented in this workshop are a culmination of Adrian’s work in a range of organic food growing situations from the paddock to the city.
You will be taking home your own seedlings and pots along with a supercharged batch of superb potting mix for your own pots and gardens.
This very first session will be about ‘Small Scale Organic Gardening’ with Adrian Baiada, an Urban Farmer and Educator. Adrian combined his passion for real food with years of experience in community engagement and environmental sustainability, to better teach you how to plant and harvest your own crops.
With an honours degree in Landscape Management and Conservation and Certificates in Biological Agriculture, Permaculture, you know you’ll take home some valuable ideas.
