Hoopoe Home was borne from my desire to share my love of colour and design.

My designs are edgy and vibrant and aim to make a statement. Most pieces are limited edition and small batch, with limited runs of each design so that each piece is exclusive and carries with it my very heart and soul.

I design and hand craft bespoke wearables using textiles and embellishments that I source from small suppliers across the globe.

My collection unveils a vision for colour and texture that strongly imbues the unique light and casual energy of Brisbane, fused with the aesthetics of luxe tribal and mid-century style.

hoo-poe [hoo-poo] – an old word bird found in Africa.[home] – where my heart is; the instinct to return, to go to one’s home place.

The class was a real pleasure to attend. Karen was very generous with her knowledge and the class time and materials available gave a real opportunity to explore this medium. Would highly recommend to anyone interested in learning this craft or spending a relaxed afternoon just enjoying making with your hands.
