Celebrate Mother’s Day with a Special Hand Building Pottery Class!

Join us on Sunday, 10 May 2026, for a unique and creative Mother’s Day experience.

Please note: This is a handbuilding class, not a pottery wheel class.

Do you have a special someone in mind who loves getting crafty and has always wanted to explore the ancient art of ceramics?

In this 2-hour Mother’s Day Hand Building pottery workshop on Sunday May 10th, our friendly and engaging tutor will guide participants in creating ceramic vessels or sculptures using handbuilding techniques. Students will learn coiling and sculpting to craft one-of-a-kind pieces that express their creativity and artistry.

Cost: $99 per person, including firing and glazing of your pieces. Our experienced technician will complete the glazing, and your finished works will typically be ready for collection within 3–4 weeks, sometimes sooner.

How many pieces: Limited to 3 pieces per person. Extra 6th piece available upon a $25 via QR code payment with your teachers guidance.

Ages: 15+ years. Younger participants allowed as long as they are accompanied with a participating adult.

Class Size: 12 people maximum

Celebrate Mother’s Day with a hands-on, memorable workshop that’s as unique as the art you’ll create.

After your workshop:

• Our experienced tutor will trim and tidy all your masterpieces ready to be fired in the kiln;
• Our kiln technician will bisque fire your masterpieces. Then they will glaze them using food safe glazes and fire them a second time before packaging them up for you to collect;

So much work goes into the pieces behind the scenes, such is the dedication and commitment that Clay Talk makes in providing you with a fun time on the pottery wheel and professionally trimmed and glazed masterpieces to take home!

Please note what to bring (see below) and if you are confident that you might create more than 3 pieces in the allocated time, please bring a container or cardboard box to take your extra pieces home with you.

Your 3 finished ceramic pieces will be ready for collection at Clay Talk 3-4 weeks after your workshop. You will be notified by SMS or email when your pieces are ready for collection.

ACCESS

Clay Talk studio is located on the grounds of Montsalvat. For this reason, there are security measures in place to prevent trespassing and maintain your safety. Upon booking you will receive a map which has instructions on how to access Clay Talk studio. Please read this before coming to class.

REFUNDS / ABSENCE / TRANSFERS/ CANCELLATION/ FIRING FAILURES

• We do not offer refunds if you change your mind after you have made the booking. Please be sure you are able to commit to the class, course or workshop dates and times prior to booking.
• Transfers are done upon email request and subject to available spaces only. Failure to transfer successfully will mean receiving a credit note or being transferred to a later term of the same class.
• If you are unable to attend a class, please contact us at claytalk@montsalvat.com.au on the day of your class. In exceptional circumstances, we can make alternative arrangements to compensate for lost class time.
• Retrospective requests (a request for a make-up from last term for example) for class make-ups are not accepted. We request you make contact via email or phone to Clay Talk as soon as you can’t make class so that we can make alternative arrangements for you.
• Clay Talk reserves the right to cancel a class due to unforeseen circumstances such as insufficient enrolments or illness or for maintenance works. You will be notified prior to the class if cancellation of the class is deemed necessary, or if there will be another date scheduled, or if a pro-rata refund will be provided.
• Kilns are unpredictable environments, and unexpected issues can occasionally occur during the firing process. While we take every possible care to glaze and fire your work correctly, clay and glaze failures can happen and may affect the outcome of your pieces. By enrolling in any class, you acknowledge and accept this inherent risk as part of the ceramic making process.

ILLNESS

If classes and workshops are cancelled due to illness of a tutor, and the inability to find a suitable replacement, Clay Talk will endeavour to provide rescheduled dates for classes and workshops.

In the event that students cannot attend the rescheduled classes, students/attendees must email claytalk@montsalvat.com.au as soon as possible prior to the commencement of the rescheduled class or workshop.

If a student is unable to attend the rescheduled classes or workshop Clay Talk may, at its absolute discretion, provide either a credit note, or a pro-rata refund (minus an administration fee of 10%).

 GIFT VOUCHERS

Gift vouchers are only available through our online portal www. Gift vouchers can be purchased for a minimum of $20 and are valid for 3 years from purchase.

Gift vouchers can only be used for booking classes, courses and/or workshops at Clay Talk through our online portal. Gift vouchers can be applied at check out when booking a class, course or workshop.
