Discover the joy of tapestry weaving in this fun, hands-on workshop suitable for beginners or as a refresher to sharpen up past learning. Students will learn how to warp up a loom, basic techniques, warp / weft ratios & trouble shooting.
Some basic weaving experience would be handy, but not essential.

Preparation
What to bring
- Students need to bring a tapestry frame.
- If the student does not have a metal adjustable frame, a simple timber frame with NO notches would be good.
- Bobbins (bobbins will be available for purchase in the class) & variety of weft yarns.

Your Tutor is Joy Smith she has been weaving tapestries since completing a TAFE course in 1982. As well as working in 2 commercial studios she has had her own studio practise & exhibited in numerous solo & group shows in Australia & Overseas. Joy has taught at a variety of institutions & community groups.
