In a friendly , encouraging environment learn the basic skills required to throw a range of forms on the pottery wheel, including:
* The nature of clay and its preparation for the wheel
*Centring clay and preparing for throwing
* Throwing cylinders, which are the basic shape for most forms made on the wheel
* Simple decoration and glaze application
We aim for each student to have their own piece of fired pottery to take home.
The course is intended for beginners with little or no pottery experience.
It is a 6 session course each lasting 2 1/2 hours run on Saturday mornings. Each student receives a tool kit that is theirs to keep. Included in the course fee are pottery clay, underglazes, glazes and firing.
All you need to bring is your enthusiasm, but remember to wear closed shoes and cloths that can get a little messy.
- Students will develop an understanding of the process of throwing forms on the wheel and have developed a range of skills.
- We expect that on completing the course every student will have one or more decorated and fired pots that they have created. They will also keep the basic tool kit provided at the start of the course.

- Clayworks will provide all of the tools, clay, underglazes, glazes, firing, aprons and towels. Just bring your enthusiasm.
Please wear comfortable, cloths that can get a little messy, we prefer that you wear closed in shoes.
The course is for people beginning their pottery journey with little or no experience.

Refunds and transfers will not be processed if cancellation occurs within 48 hours of the event commencing. We do not offer refunds for missed classes. There are no fees for refunds or transfers. Anyone partaking in any classes or coming to any events at Clayworks Potters Supply Pty Ltd or organised by Clayworks Potters Supply Pty Ltd must agree to these terms and conditions.

Clayworks Potters Supply Pty Ltd requires 48 hours notice in writing prior to the class for a full refund or transfer.
In the event that a class is cancelled, students will be notified via text message or email and entitled to a full refund or credit.
