Watch It Grow

Watch It Grow

A special Children's Week activity

Over 20 people have attended this class

Description

Come along to Edendale for this after-school session. Your child will learn all about what a seed needs to grow, the environmental benefits of growing some of your own food, and why worms are such amazing creatures when it comes to recycling food waste and creating amazing quality soil! Visits to our veggie gardens, worm farms and compost areas will be part of the activity. Children will also get to plant a seed in a biodegradable pot that they can take home with them.

Please note as this is a children's activity, a parent or guardian must attend the workshop with the participating child/children to ensure supervision and safety.  Thank you.

About Children's Week

Children’s Week is a national celebration that recognises the talents, skills, achievements and rights of children. From Saturday 21 October to Sunday 29 October, thousands of Victorian children will take part in a range of festivities.

The theme for Children's Week 2023 is “Children have the right to relax, play and take part in activities they enjoy”, drawn from Article 31 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
