Beginners Slip Casting Workshop

A introduction to the basics to slip casting

Over 10 people have attended this class

Description

Spread over two 3 hour classes Jason introduces the process of slip casting in a fun and engaging way.

With an emphasis on keeping each process and step simple and easy to understand Jason will walk you through the entire process of slip casting from start to finish.

With a look at safety working with clay, making moulds, pouring slip, cleaning up greenware and the firing and glazing process, you will leave the class with your moulds and finished slipcasted works.

The slip casting techniques can be used to replicate forms such as simple vessels, mugs, vases, bowls and plates.

Jason will also explain the method of making your own slip, A process which he uses in this own practice.

Your own creativity and idea are welcome in this class as Jason believes that up-skilling and learning new things should be a fun and highly hands on experience.

Please wear comfortable clothing and closed in shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty!

You will be able to collect your finished piece 3 -4 weeks after the workshop, once it has been glazed and fired.

No prior experience is necessary! This workshop is perfect for beginners or anyone looking to expand their ceramic knowledge.
