Digital Photography and Editing Workshop!

Learn how to use a DSLR and edit photos for online

Webinar

Description

The workshop:

Learn how to create beautiful images for online use in this two part digital photography course with Sorcha Wilcox.

In the first class you will be taught how to use your digital SLR with manual functions and gain a solid understanding of photography basics, you will then apply your new skills by taking photos during the workshop with assistance.

For the second class you will be taught how to edit the photos you have taken using a free downloadable software (a free alternative to Adobe Photoshop). This will include specialised skills for online use such as resizing for uploading online to your website, portfolio, and social media. As well as how to meet submission requirements of images for exhibition, grant and competition applications.

You will need a digital SLR camera to participate in this workshop, if you do not have one consider asking a friend to borrow one if possible.

Class schedule:

7th July 6-7.30pm

14th July 6-7.30pm

Your teacher:

Sorcha Wilcox is an Irish-Australian visual artist, musical performer and has recently completed a PhD at Deakin University.

Her work investigates photographic processes, often with integration of soundscapes. Key interests lie in the development of fields through creative material, and new lines of logic that can be created from abstractions of this material.

Sorcha is currently a sessional academic at Deakin University.
