Direct Stone Setting Into Wax
(Private Dates Available)
Description
Please note: I have been overseas this year and will resume teaching this class from Oct 14th 2024, please request any private one on one dates between then and Dec 16th 2024. Teaching resumes in 2025 from the beginning of Feb.
Please note this course is not for beginners.
In this course, we go over the rules and theory of directly setting stones into wax before casting and we also add in all our tips and shortcuts that we have learnt along the way.
This is an exciting course with lots and lots of practice that can just be fun or a breakthrough for many jewellers.
We supply all the wax, models and a starter pack of nano manmade stones that you can buy in the class if you choose to keep them and cast. With that and lots of help the rest of your time is for supervised exploration.
All of our classes are taught as though you will be working from home at a kitchen table so everything you learn you will be able to repeat at home. With that in mind it is essential that you have some experience of wax carving carving and casting - we do not teach from beginners for this course.
This class is practice only, anything you choose to cast will be taken in by you in your own time and be finished at home or in your studio.
If that sounds appealing book in and come along and have some fun.
This course is taught by Eran Naylor of Eran Naylor Jewellery and her teaching style is to give as much help and guidance, individual and group as possible. We like you to be able to get value for money and encourage you to own your work and skills so that you can ahead in this industry. She teaches with a positive attitude and can help you succeed either as a hobbyist or starting a new business. If you are not sure if this course if for you it may help you to check out our great feedback and see what others have to say about our courses.

Our inspirations for our collections come from designs and patterns from the old Mesopotamian regions, India and South America, transferring the beauty of older times to bold, classic pieces that can be worn or used with ease today.
We also run a school of craft, where we invite exciting and innovative teachers to come in and teach classes so that you can learn new skills from them. These are run in one of our two beautiful spaces in and around our shop and studio.

My name is Eran Naylor and I am a self taught goldsmith, designer and teacher. I have my own label, a working studio in Melbourne and also run a jewellery school with in person classes and online jewellery classes. I started making jewellery over 25 years ago and have progressed from there as creating jewellery became more and more of a passionI started off beading gemstones and wire wrapping jewellery pieces to saw piercing and then onto lost wax carving work, teaching myself and learning to solder along the way. I am proof that you can make it on your own and work it out as you go but I made a lot of mistakes along the way with no internet or short classes available today and I aim to help you avoid those same mistakes and give you a good solid base for making jewellery with wax.I started teaching eight years ago after helping a few friends with their skills and realised how much I have to offer, especially in lost wax carving. Over a thousand students later, I have expanded the course range and now offer you these online jewellery courses to practice at home anywhere in the world at your own pace.I continue to work now as a bespoke goldsmith and miss the days when I could just sit for hours playing with wax. This is the best way to learn. I find that teaching and helping others makes up for my personal lack of creative time now and is so enjoyable that it more gives back. All of my students know that I love nothing more than talking jewellery and am always available to help.I hope that you enjoy your journey and I would be honoured to be a part of that along the way.x Eran
