Build up Wax Technique-advanced jewellery course
Description
This is an advanced course for wax work students and jewellers who wish to take their skills to the next level. You will learn techniques to build up wax and create settings for stones for rings, earrings or pendants.
As this is an advanced course it is expected that you are already confident in all of your finish off skills and have casting and finish off experience from previous castings. No finish off work is covered in this course or stone setting. It is wax work only.
There is an equipment list but most wax students would already have most of it so there wont be much a further expense.
What you will learn
- A new technique to progress your wax work
What you will get
- Skills, skills, skills
Appropriate for
Jewellers who wish to advance their wax work
We are a collective of designers and makers curated by Eran Naylor (owner and designer) creating and bringing to you beautiful and organic jewellery, bags and home wares. Our house label of jewellery and bags are made here in our studio. Our inspirations for our collections come from designs and patterns from the old Mesopotamian regions, India and South America, transferring the beauty of older times to bold, classic pieces that can be worn or used with ease today.
We also run a school of craft, where we invite exciting and innovative teachers to come in and teach classes so that you can learn new skills from them. These are run in one of our two beautiful spaces in and around our shop and studio.

My name is Eran Naylor and I am a self taught goldsmith, designer and teacher. I have my own label, a working studio in Melbourne and also run a jewellery school with in person classes and online jewellery classes. I started making jewellery over 25 years ago and have progressed from there as creating jewellery became more and more of a passionI started off beading gemstones and wire wrapping jewellery pieces to saw piercing and then onto lost wax carving work, teaching myself and learning to solder along the way. I am proof that you can make it on your own and work it out as you go but I made a lot of mistakes along the way with no internet or short classes available today and I aim to help you avoid those same mistakes and give you a good solid base for making jewellery with wax.I started teaching eight years ago after helping a few friends with their skills and realised how much I have to offer, especially in lost wax carving. Over a thousand students later, I have expanded the course range and now offer you these online jewellery courses to practice at home anywhere in the world at your own pace.I continue to work now as a bespoke goldsmith and miss the days when I could just sit for hours playing with wax. This is the best way to learn. I find that teaching and helping others makes up for my personal lack of creative time now and is so enjoyable that it more gives back. All of my students know that I love nothing more than talking jewellery and am always available to help.I hope that you enjoy your journey and I would be honoured to be a part of that along the way.x Eran
