One of the most common admissions we hear is "I have a sewing machine, but I haven't taken it out of the box."  So, we've created this workshop! There has been a boom in sewing machine sales and we want to make sure potential-sewing-superstars everywhere have the confidence to give it a go.

This 2-hour workshop will cover:

  • How to thread a sewing machine (both vertical and horizontal drop-in)
  • The settings and adjustments for straight stitching
  • Step-by-step how-to start sewing and finishing off
  • Troubleshooting tips
  • Links to simple projects

By then end of this workshop, you will have the confidence to start playing with your sewing machine. The tips and knowledge we teach you will enable you to start making simple projects.

Thread Den has access to many different machines and will be able to demonstrate steps on different machines as well as explain yours to you.

I loved how personal it felt even though we were working through zoom. The teachers were attentive to everyone and all of our different sewing machines. Very clear and thorough explanations/demonstrations. I feel confident now with the basics and ready to continue learning!

I really enjoyed this class. The teacher and host were well-prepared. They had taken the time to find out what sort of sewing machine each of the participants had so they could help us individually. I feel more confident finding my way around my machine now. Thank you!
