Fish is finding its way onto more tables than ever before. Everywhere you look, people are singing the praises of seafood. It cooks quickly and is very versatile, not to mention delicious and nutritious. Nowadays, everybody recognizes that fish are a good source of protein and rich in healthy oils.

Despite this growing popularity and glowing press reviews, most fish is still eaten out. Many cooks are simply reluctant to try cooking fish at home, and they are unsure about how to buy the right type and handle it properly. This workshop will give you the facts, and the confidence, you need to start making fish a more regular part of your home cooking repertoire.

About Brendan Cato and The Farmed Table

I have worked in hatted restaurants in Sydney (Bistro Moncur, Sean’s Panaroma), in Europe and several years as a chef in the super yacht industry. I have always had a passion for food, discovering new techniques and experimenting. I enjoy every part of cooking from selection produce, learning how it is grown and cooking it. I am currently running ‘pop-up’ dinners called “The Farmed Table” @ café Bang Bang every Saturday night in Surry Hills.

Dinners at The Farmed Table involve me sourcing all of the produce directly from farmers (all of whom have sustainable, ethical and mostly organic farming practices), foraging for ingredients and putting together a set menu changing every week. In doing this I am gaining a better understanding of how things are grown. I let the farmers tell me what that have available, not the other way around. I am trying to introduce people to new foods, and ways of cooking. Vegetables become a whole dish, snapper is swapped for sea mullet. And lesser know cuts of meat or whole animals are used.

Cancelation & Refund Policy

REFUNDS

Work-Shop requires 72 hours notice in writing prior to the class for a full refund. If you miss this window, earn some extra karma points and give your ticket to one of your buddies. The tickets are fully transferable. Email learn@work-shop.com.au to organise a refund.

CANCELLATIONS

We’ll do our darndest to run all scheduled classes, however, let’s face it… sometimes shit happens! Most of our classes must have a minimum of 5 participants before we can put them on. In the event that a class is cancelled, students will be notified via email and entitled to a full refund or credit.

Anyone partaking in any classes or coming to any events at Work-Shop or organised by Work-Shop must agree to these terms and conditions.

2.) PHOTO & VIDEO

I agree to give Work-Shop unrestricted publishing rights for any photographs or videos taken at Work-Shop classes and events or on Work-Shop’s premises. (Don’t worry, we’ll only these use to show others how much of a rad time you’re having through social media, newsletters, blogs, website and general Work-Shop promo material)
