So you want to be a hip hop artist? Do you love poetry or have a passion for music?

Well School of Rap is the place for you.

A fun day of hip hop for beginners, learn the basics of positive hip hop culture, play rhyme games, and together as a group we will write and record a rap song in our mobile recording studio.

Hosted by Rapaport, the creator of independent hip hop label Big Village records.

Aimed at complete beginners aged 1-12. Each participant will have the opportunity to write some of their own lines and also work with the rest of the group. The work-shop encourages positive self expression, collaborations and gaining confidence in your own voice.

The day will be a fun way to learn about hip hop  and will give everyone involved a unique introduction to writing and recording hip hop music. After the workshop we will send you your finished piece to be uploaded to Youtube or Soundcloud and shared to the world!

Class covers:

10 – 11:20 – Introduction

  • basics of hip hop
  • history of hip hop music
  • Basic rhyme games, rhyme using your name, your suburb

11:20 – 12:30 – Writing song

  • Work out concepts of song
  • Brainstorm topics
  • Write a chorus as a group
  • Time for each participant to write their own verse

12:30 – 1:30 Lunch – Please don’t forget to pack a lunch!

1:30 – 2:00 Finish writing song

  • Help students with their own verses

2:00 – 3:00 Record!

  • Record students verses and chorus
  • Develop students writing

Cancelation & Refund Policy

REFUNDS

Work-Shop requires 72 hours notice in writing prior to the class for a full refund. If you miss this window, earn some extra karma points and give your ticket to one of your buddies. The tickets are fully transferable. Email learn@work-shop.com.au to organise a refund.

CANCELLATIONS

We’ll do our darndest to run all scheduled classes, however, let’s face it… sometimes shit happens! Most of our classes must have a minimum of 5 participants before we can put them on. In the event that a class is cancelled, students will be notified via email and entitled to a full refund or credit.

Anyone partaking in any classes or coming to any events at Work-Shop or organised by Work-Shop must agree to these terms and conditions.

1.) LIABILITY WAIVER

  •  Any damage, loss or theft incurred to personal property property brought into Work-Shop’s premises.
  • Any physical injuries sustained as a result of participating in any class or event organised by Work-Shop.

I agree to take on full responsibility for any damages, injuries and for physical and/or personal property, which I might incur whilst participating in classes and/or events organised by Work-Shop.

2.) PHOTO & VIDEO

I agree to give Work-Shop unrestricted publishing rights for any photographs or videos taken at Work-Shop classes and events or on Work-Shop’s premises. (Don’t worry, we’ll only these use to show others how much of a rad time you’re having through social media, newsletters, blogs, website and general Work-Shop promo material)
