Description

Ever wanted to learn chess?  Join the 650 million people around the world, who already know how to play!  This workshop is perfectly suited for beginners with an interest in learning the basic rules, and developing a feel for the high skill, mental exercise and strategical thinking involved in making life-or-death decisions over the chess board.

Topics covered will include:

  • World’s fastest checkmates
  • Introduction to simple problem solving

About Julius Anuari

Julius is 33 years old and was born in Kampala, Uganda.  Playing chess has been a great passion for most of his life and he is extremely enthusiastic about his work.  Julius has been involved with the Ugandan Chess Federation as a Tournament Organiser.  He is also a qualified FIDE Instructor since 2005 and he earned this title from the World Chess Federation (FIDE).

Julius started work with the Sydney Academy of Chess in February, 2013 as a full-time chess trainer.  He teaches chess in order to share his skills and knowledge with others, so that they can also appreciate the vast complexity, beauty and magic of the game.

Julius has completed a Diploma in Science Technology (Physics) and loves photography and making videos in his spare time.
