This relaxing 2 hour workshop is designed to ignite the creative spark in complete beginners and get the flame going for those who have some drawing and painting experience. Within the workshop students will learn and apply the skills and processes required to use watercolour paints with a focus on paint application, washing, brush-work, colour mixing, tonal value and light depiction.
Students will have completed a series of artworks and created greeting cards with hand-written calligraphy! By the end of this class students will feel confident using their new skills to continue developing their own artistic style!
ABOUT YOUR TEACHER
Monique Karolyn is an artist and art teacher based in the hinterland of the Gold Coast. She is fascinated by diverse personalities and emotions portrayed through facial expressions and colour. She explores the use of watercolour and gouache, as the process is a personal experience of relaxation, one that has no control and an unpredictable outcome.
After completing her studies in Fine Arts at QUT, Monique has found a love for working with people and igniting a creative hobby in all of her students. She thrives from collaborating and fostering the creativity in others.
