Become a comic artist!

In this 4 hour workshop with comic creators Angie Spice & Nathan Onias, you will learn all about the craft of sequential art (that means comics!). We will discuss the anatomy of a comic page and techniques for telling a story through sequential art. Participants will design a layout with thumbnails and sketches, practice drawing techniques and mark making with pen and brush.

This workshop is part of Indie Comic Con, Melbourne's newest comic book festival showcasing local and independent comic artists, writers and creators. Taking place at Northcote Town Hall on Saturday, 4th November, 2017 from 10AM-5PM, the festival will showcase over 30 independent comic book creators from across Australia. ABOUT ANGIE SPICE AND NATHAN ONIAS

Angie Spice is a comic book artist and vocalist. Angie won the Australian 2016 24 hour comic book challenge with “Galah Girl” and has also produced an autobiographical zine “Angie in Have You seen La La Land?” Her series "Courier: The Adventures of Geraldine Barker" has enjoyed an overwhelmingly fantastic response. http://angiespice.bigcartel.com/

Nathan Onias is a comic book artist and freelance illustrator. He is currently organising Indie Comic Con, a festival showcasing independent comic book creators. His comic "Commander Canine" is a super-hero comedy due to be published in late 2017. Cancelation & Refund Policy

REFUNDS

Work-Shop requires 72 hours notice in writing prior to the class for a full refund. If you miss this window, earn some extra karma points and give your ticket to one of your buddies. The tickets are fully transferable. Email learn@work-shop.com.au to organise a refund.

CANCELLATIONS

We’ll do our darndest to run all scheduled classes, however, let’s face it… sometimes shit happens! Most of our classes must have a minimum of 5 participants before we can put them on. In the event that a class is cancelled, students will be notified via email and entitled to a full refund or credit.

Anyone partaking in any classes or coming to any events at Work-Shop or organised by Work-Shop must agree to these terms and conditions.

1.) LIABILITY WAIVER

  •  Any damage, loss or theft incurred to personal property property brought into Work-Shop’s premises.
  • Any physical injuries sustained as a result of participating in any class or event organised by Work-Shop.

I agree to take on full responsibility for any damages, injuries and for physical and/or personal property, which I might incur whilst participating in classes and/or events organised by Work-Shop.


2.) PHOTO & VIDEO

I agree to give Work-Shop unrestricted publishing rights for any photographs or videos taken at Work-Shop classes and events or on Work-Shop’s premises. (Don’t worry, we’ll only these use to show others how much of a rad time you’re having through social media, newsletters, blogs, website and general Work-Shop promo material)
