Knit knit knit! workshop for absolute beginners
Description
So you want to learn to knit... you can do this!
In this hands-on, workshop for the absolute beginner knitter, Marianne will introduce you to the tools of the trade (basically needles and yarn)
You will learn the basic knit and purl stitches, and cast off. Most importantly you will learn what to do if and when all the stitches fall off your needles...
You'll discuss suitable projects for beginner knitters. You will knit and purl and laugh and dance ( okay, maybe you won't dance but totally feel free to if the mood takes you! Pretty sure interpretive knit dancing is a thing somewhere...)
By the end of class, you'll come away with the skills and confidence to start knitting a project of your very own, if that's your goal.
Some people just like to knit and knit with no end point in mind because it's all about the journey, right?
What you will learn
- How to cast on, knit and purl, cast off.
- How to read your knitting and deal with mistakes! How not to panic and throw it all in the bin!
- Confidence in their ability to make stuff with two sticks and a bit of yarn....

- a ball of yarn( or several) of choice and knitting needles in a suitable size for your yarn.
What to wear
No, just dress as yourself.
Appropriate for
Absolute beginners or anyone needing a refresher on the Very Basics! (If you are up to tackling socks, this class is not for you!) Only prerequisite is the willingness to give it a try.
