Clown Bootcamp


This is a clown bootcamp diving into the essential elements of clown! Explore the

clowns' connection to the audience, the ‘clown state’, complicité (playing together), your

sensitivity and vulnerability onstage.

This workshop is suitable for performers new to clown, with a little experience, or more

seasoned clowns who are looking to play, explore and connect in a respectful and

supportive environment.

Laura Trenerry is a performer, theatre maker and teacher based in Naarm. She is one-third of

award-winning comedy trio The Travelling Sisters, one half of The Beryls comedy duo and

ensemble member of Stickybeak (Best Comedy, Melbourne Fringe 2024). She is a clown,

character comedian and theatre obsessed independent artist who has been creating, producing

and performing her own work for 13 years. She is a passionate teaching artist and regularly

teaches clown and theatre workshops for young people and adults. She is a Clowning &

Physical Comedy trainer at Women’s Circus Melbourne and works as a clown in aged care

settings for The Humour Foundation.

This was such a fun experience! I can’t put to words how much I enjoyed learning, playing and getting to laugh in such a delightful and silly class! The teacher was so wonderful!

If the organiser cancels the class:

You are entitled to a full refund.

If you can't attend the class:

  • A transfer can be requested anytime before the class starts. Free of charge.
  • A credit note can be requested 2 days before the class starts. An admin fee of AU$20.00 applies.

No changes will be allowed after these times.
