In this hands-on workshop, you will learn various techniques in order to create a tall, modern watercolour cake, using everyday ingredients. You will also learn how to create your own brightly coloured chocolate sails, apply edible gold leaf or gold lustre and constructing a tall, stable cake. You will be able to take  your delicious creation home to share with friends and family.

The class will cover:
• How to make Swiss Meringue buttercream.
• How to cut, stack and fill a round cake
• Colouring buttercream with gel colours
• How to render smooth buttercream and achieve sharp edges on a round cake
• How to achieve watercolour buttercream finish
• How make chocolate shards and shapes for cake decorating
• How to apply edible gold leaf on buttercream

19 June 2018 • Hands-On Bold Buttercream Cake Workshop

Emelia’s hands on class was wonderful! As soon as the class started Emelia had everything prepped and ready to go for all of us so the cake making could take place right away! Each step was carefully and thoughtfully explained and demonstrated so much so that our cakes came out looking like they could go straight into a shop window!! We were also given the tools to use whatever products she had on hand to decorate however we wanted to and the cake tasted AMAZING I wouldn’t hesitate to come back and do another class I learnt so much that I can now put into practise each day when baking and decorating!
