Book Now (http://weteachme.com/l/NCN9MdMr)

Description

Join Anna from onepinkplum for an evening of embroidery as part of this year's Craft Cubed festival. In this hands-on workshop, you will learn all the basics of embroidery, a range of embroidery stitches as well as many tips and tricks that will have you stitching with confidence right away. Every student will receive an embroidery sampler kit, so no supplies are required, just bring yourself. This workshop will be filled with suggestions to help make stitching easy, fun and relaxing. The sampler will be started in class and you will be confident with each stitch and have all the skills to finish the sampler at home. Students will walk away, refreshed from an evening of slow stitching and with all the skills to confidently stitch their next embroidery project (and the next and the next…). No prior experience is necessary and all skill levels are welcome.

Skills covered:

  • Tools and materials for embroidery and how to use them for best results
  • How to begin your embroidery
  • Seven different embroidery stitches
  • How to finish your embroidery
  • How to apply your new embroidery skills with confidence to your next project.

Anna is an academic, mother and the sole maker behind onepinkplum. Anna developed her love for embroidery at a very young age when along with a group of friends in her 4th grade class, they persuaded the owner of the gift shop, sandwiched between the IGA and Chinese restaurant, to teach them embroidery in the shop's tea room. Since then she has added knitting, crochet, weaving, yarn dyeing and sewing to her repertoire but still holds a soft spot for embroidery and tries to stitch a few minutes every day around the chaos of life with small children. She loves the slowness of the craft and very much enjoys encouraging her students to slow down and embroider one stitch at a time.

I loved this class. Anna was friendly, welcoming, and so knowledgeable about all kinds of embroidery styles. The small class size was perfect for individualised help whenever we needed it, and Anna was able to show us some extra stitches that were part of projects we planned to do next. I left the class confident about finishing my sampler and getting stuck into all of my Pinterest embroidery projects!
