The Rest in Pieces Team is coming back to Sydney and we are inviting you to join us for our Baby Chick Taxidermy Workshop!

Throughout the workshop you will be taught skills in skinning, fleshing, preserving, and mounting a complete specimen. You will also be guided through the traditional torso building technique of soft body wrapping and learn to preserve the feet with injections.

At the end of the workshop you will walk away with a gorgeous Baby Chick mounted in a glass dome.

You will also have the option to purchase a take home so you can practice your newly acquired skills in your own time.

As usual, the RIP team will take care of everything for you. All necessary tools along with your specimen, apron, snacks, drinks, and wine will be provided on the day.

Would you like to book a take home kit?

Workshop + Kit contains the following:

- Frozen baby Chick

- Tools for skinning and mounting your specimen

- Products for cleaning, fleshing, and preservation

- Wooden base to mount specimen on (purchase a glass dome if you would like one)

- List of instructions from the workshop

Please note: if you are flying in from interstate and want a take home kit, you will need to have checked in luggage as many of the sharp items will not be accepted in hand luggage.

07 August 2019 • Baby Chick Class - Sydney Edition

Another great workshop run by the Rest In Pieces team. Always a great atmosphere and the classes are enjoyable as well as challenging at times. I keep coming back and doing more so that should say it all really. Looking forward to the next workshop I do with the team.

I purchased a raffle ticket for the workshop and won my spot! The energy was great, relaxing and super inviting as soon as I walked in. ( I’m usually nervous walking into these sorts of things but I felt at home 💁🏻‍♀️) Everyone who attended the workshop were so friendly and like minded. Nat was a fantastic teacher, she explained every step of the way and made it sound easy and was quick to render assistance if needed or if someone had a question. I’m already booked for one of their other classes. I’m genuinely so happy with how my baby chick taxidermy turned out especially because I have never done any taxidermy previously.

I had a blast. Time flew as I learned and created my lovely little chick. Nat is awesome, intelligent and cheeky. Her knowledge and delivery of info was thorough with heaps of of time to complete each step. All tools and supplies were thoughtfully laid out and her support staff were totally into the flow and very helpful. Skunk and squirrel hung out with me during lunch and I was even brought barista coffee to keep me going. These guys know how to put on a workshop. And if you like wine, it will keep coming... I’ll be back. xx
