Ever wanted to try your hand at weaving but not sure where to start? In this beginners weaving workshop, we will cover all the basics to using a lap loom, simple techniques and tricks for starting out as well as steps for finishing and hanging your woven piece.
You will learn a range of different stitch types, patterns and colours to create your weaving design. We will also look at different weaving styles from artists around the world and how their techniques can provide us with colour and design inspiration. A wide selection of beautiful wools and roving will be available for you to use. Classes are limited to a maximum of 6 participants, to enable plenty of one-on-one assistance in a small group environment.
"Loved the all day weaving workshop! As a beginner this was perfect for learning all the basic techniques. Anna was an amazing teacher, really friendly, approachable and patient. The workshop space is cosy and comfortable. There was also a beautiful selection of wools to choose from. Overall, a very enjoyable workshop, would highly recommend this!" Sandra (12 June, 2017)
"Anna was lovely! Could easily continue weaving on my own after our 1 class." Suzanne (1 June, 2017)
"Fantastic day of weaving with Anna at the Studio Workshops! Learnt the basics of weaving, and had the opportunity to try out all the techniques on my own. Price was well worth the value of the course - fantastic!" Laura (28 May, 2017)

Good tunes, good times
A great craft workshop is more than learning a new creative skill and making something yourself. It's about meeting friends, sharing laughs and having a fabulous day out. That's why our kids classes include treats and tunes to keep the creative juices flowing. And for our adult classes, we offer nibbles with tea, coffee, wine or bubbles - whatever takes your fancy.
