The Mighty Booch – DIY Kombucha

Next Available: 05 Oct 6:30PM

Description

Kombucha is an increasingly world-wide popular fermented health drink. Originating in China, for thousands of years it has been used as a health tonic and was traditionally passed to the next generation as part of the community’s culture.

In this workshop we will reconnect and revive the art of fermenting as part of our everyday lives, exploring the benefits and practicalities of making and maintaining Kombucha at home.

About Gillian Kozicki & Cultured Artisans

Gillian Kozicki is the passion behind Cultured Artisans. When conventional medicine failed to keep Gillian well, she investigated alternatives, starting with whole foods and a healthy organic diet. Her love of home prepared good food and supporting good health combined when she met Sandor Katz, as this is when she discovered the link between the two.

Gillian then threw herself into fermenting as an evolution of her permaculture interests. It connected so many areas of her life and quite simply, just made sense! Gillian has pursued it with vigour ever since and spent many hours finding a rhythm that is working and evolving for her, her family and the friends she ferments with.

Cultured Artisans was established to empower people to:

  • Ferment at home
  • Reconnect with their gut and community for better health
  • Be creative with their ferments
  • Enjoy the adventure of working with live cultures
  • To share the abundance with others

23 August 2017 • The Mighty Booch – DIY Kombucha

The class at the work-shop learned the basics of making Kombucha included with a variety of Ingredients, materials and tasting, The highlight was bring home a mother scoby. The instructor was well prepared. The material displayed were clean, arranged in an order to enhance the process of making Kombucha and very eye pleasing. She was very encouraging and hopefully we will have success at home soon.

My wife and I took the intro to Kombucha making class. We found the the teacher and material very interesting and easy to follow. I would recommend this to someone. And we make take another class offered by the teacher.

Gillian was a great speaker and presented a wealth of information. For me this was a refresher course from one I had done a few years ago with her but was unable to put theory into practice. I am full of confidence again and have started a few batches. Great things in store for the future.
