We loooooove doughnuts! Really, who doesn’t? Work-Shop is bringing to you a hand picked selection of the finest Doughnut chefs in Sydney. This month we feature the tasty treats of Redfern’s own Milk Bar by Cafe Ish.
In this workshop we are going to teach you how to make a doughnut from scratch! You will learn how to make the dough, let it rise, then fry it, glaze it and decorate it.
You will get the delicious satisfaction of taking home a box chock-full of handmade rings of doughy goodness!
Café ish has been around in 1 form or another for 7 years. Now in its third home with 2 venues The Milk Bar by Café Ish and Milk Bar Pizza, both located in Redfern.
Chef Josh Nicholls first but short lived apprenticeship was as a baker and as such he has always preferred to bake his own goods. He has been making Doughnuts at The Milk Bar by Café Ish for 2 years now and has regulary been included in Sydney’s best doughnut lists. The Doughnuts also feature on a pizza at Milk Bar Pizza.
The class will focus on technique, some decorating and glazing finishing with hot cinnamon and jam balls. We will use things that you can easily access form your local supermarket.
