ABOUT VIRGINIA DAS NEVES

Virginia has been a freelance archaeological illustrator, painter, photographer and costume maker over the years and is now owner of a small textile design business called The Happy Artisan. The Happy Artisan specializes in hand-embroidered and handmade ethnic-inspired neckpieces, hand-dyed indigo fabrics for use in textile creations, small purses, hand-embroidered handbags and custom made fabric covered lampshades and matching cushions. Having trained as a Costumer for film, theatre, opera and the ballet, Virginia has worked on several big theatre shows and films such as The Lion King and Moulin Rouge. She has always had a passion for all things handmade and after encouragement and requests by friends to start teaching she decided the perfect place to do so would be at Work-Shop.
