Description

Marbling is a traditional Japanese artform which dates back to the 12th century. Floating inks are used to create colourful patterns on the surface of water and then transfered to paper, leaving you with a unique abstract pattern.

During the workshop we will experiment with different paper stocks and textures as the inks behave differently depending on the paper’s absorbency. You will be shown how to manipulate the whisps and swirls of the ink so you achieve your desired pattern.

No experience necessary and all materials will be provided.

Absolutely loved this class. It's easy to grasp and the teacher was very informative. You get to work at your own pace and take alot of work home. Highly recommend this class.

This workshop was okay, could have been more instruction and probably didn't need to be as long. The technique is super easy.

The workshop was good but a bit disorganised. The works being done in the building where hazardous and hadn't really been thought through in terms of OHS for participants. Aside from that the content was fine and there was heaps of time to experiment and play.
