ABOUT YOUR TEACHER

Susan Wright is “Born In Paper” and it’s fair to say her obsession for beautiful textures, colours and even the smell of paper has quite literally been ingrained since birth. Her Father was a passionate printer and founded the local newspaper “The Byron News”, starting it from a small town local paper to a thriving print production.

From being a new born rocked to sleep by the hum of the Heidelberg Letterpress, to playing with long shreds of paper – to a teenager where her passion for paper only grew as she was taught the tricks of the trade: binding note pads and collating invoice books for local businesses, or dusting gold and silver dust on wet inks for wedding stationery.

Over the past years in amongst a busy life, Susan has always found time to create and run workshops in a range of paper crafts and textiles. If you’d like to find out more head to her website at http://borninpaper.com.au

29 August 2017 • Introduction to Book Binding

Learning two different bookbinding methods over a quick 3 hours was great. We were kept busy and interested too. The methods were well explained, we had some history of book binding thrown in, which was really fascinating. The venue was excellent with lots of space and good light..
