Jump online with Adrienne crafting a soft native grass basket for gifting or for your very own. Adrienne will talk you through the starting point of creating a coil and provide finishing techniques. Adrienne will talk about grasses that commonly available form your garden.
NEEDTOKNOW: You will need a needle , a thread to weave with and some native grass filler to be the bulk/body of the basket.
- Coiling and grass stitching techniques plus Wrapping and Blanket Stitch.
- Skills to create a native grass woven basket and the skills to create it again. Stories from the Top End , New friends and networks.
- A big eye needle to stitch with. A tread to use as a weaver could be fabric, raffia or thick thread, some soft grass, long dry straw like from your garden.

Adrienne Kneebone spent 12 years in the Northern Territory mastery the craft of weaving as well as working extensively with women from Western Arhnem land. She has a lot of skills, knowledge, and storytelling to share and finds enjoyment in the atmosphere of a weaving group. Her skills range from basket twining to native grass cobbling through to bush toy making.
She now resides by the Yarra river in East Warburton where she has adapted to weaving with the local plant material. Her classes are light-hearted and enjoyable as she draws the creative spirit from people.
Adrienne Kneebone requires 48 hours notice via email prior to the start of a class or event for a full refund or transfer. Refunds and transfers will not be processed if cancellation occurs within 48 hours of the event commencing. We do not offer refunds for missed classes. There are no fees for refunds or transfers.
