Description

Come and enjoy a fun day creating a Pounamu Marama pendant in this tikanga based contemporary workshop. Participants will learn about pounamu and be introduced to new design and making skills using grinders, drills, wet and dry sanding techniques, and polishing tools while also learning lashing and binding techniques used in Māori object art.

Includes all materials, some sponsored places for ages 14-18 available. Email us at info@ceac.org.nz or 09 8384455 to discuss a sponsored place.

Please bring kai for shared lunch.

Refund & Cancellation Policy

REFUND POLICY

o   An administration fee of $20 per booking applies to all refunds.

o   A FULL refund (less Admin fee) will be given if you withdraw from a class/workshop 5 working days or more before the start date

o   NO refund will be given if you withdraw from a class/workshop less than 5 days before the start date.

o   NO refund will be given if you withdraw after a class/workshop has commenced. However, participants are welcome to transfer to another class/workshop or accept a credit for another class/workshop taking place at a later date.

o   Refunds can take up to 10 working days to process.

 

Variations

Some classes/workshops require a variation to these terms and conditions; please check your confirmation as the T’s and C’s variation will supersede regular terms and conditions.

ENROLMENT POLICY

Enrolments are taken on a ‘first in first served’ basis.

Payments must be made in full in order to confirm your booking. A booking confirmation and a materials list will be provided upon full payment.


CLASS CANCELLATIONS
CEAC reserves the right to cancel or postpone any class that does not reach a viable enrolment number. If a class is cancelled, you will be notified no less than 4 days before the start of the class, and a full refund will be given.

 

Please be advised that your contact details will be made available to your Workshop Tutor who may need to contact you over the duration of your course. Please notify us if you prefer that we do not do this.

This is the second workshop I have done with Maha. He is professional, relatable, lovely, and an amazingly talented craftsman. I would highly recommend anybody to do this class and I will be considering any of the carving workshops he offers. Best money spent in a very long time. Nga mihi Jacqui

E ao!! hui nui ki a koe i to whakapaunga werawera!! Ngā mihi Maha - meanest day, enjoyed the pace, design and whanaungatanga. Such a privileged to work with Pounamu. Would highly recommend to anyone with an appreciation for our taonga - something I will remember for a long time . Best investment you could make for yourself and the special person you koha your taonga too.
