Learn how to create Lino prints using traditional Lino printing methods with Sophie McPike!
In this workshop you’ll be guided through the process of creating one to three small pieces which you can either use as art prints or as stamps - all to be enjoyed with a glass of wine! This workshop is suitable for people of all skill levels, no prior drawing or printmaking experience is needed. You can create a print of your own design or adapt one of a handful of designs created by Sophie that will be available on the night. A fun and lighthearted workshop and an opportunity to learn a new creative skill while sipping on your favourite beverage!
This workshop is led by Sophie McPike. Sophie is a Melbourne based illustrator, artist, designer and maker. You may recognise Sophie’s artwork from local markets such as Finders Keepers, Markit Fed Square and The Rose St Market as well as in galleries and boutiques around Melbourne. Sophie studied printmaking and fine art back in 2009 and continues to make Lino prints today. The first artwork she ever sold via a gallery was a 4 layered Lino print!

Gloworm Studios is a unique art school located in the heart of Fairfield. Led by professional illustrator Marianna Marx, our programs specialise in painting, drawing and illustration. Gloworm Studios is a warm and nurturing environment where artists both young and young at heart are invited to immerse themselves in their creativity and imagination.
Marianna Marx has taught art alongside her illustration career for the past 10 years. Her experiences include working in the education department at the De Young Museum in San Francisco, an artist residency at Caulfield Grammar School, one on one art tutoring for children and adults, after school art classes, corporate workshops and working alongside artists with intellectual disabilities. Marianna has taken insight from each of these experiences to create an art school of her own where she can share her love for creative expression with others in her local community.
