I really enjoyed this class at Kami paper. The venue is lovely, easy to get to via public transport, and a peaceful little haven in bustling Fitzroy. The teacher was very knowledgeable and broke down what we were doing into manageable chunks. We were free to work at our own pace which I liked. Overall I thought this was a great introductory course to bookbinding techniques.

The Japanese Bookbinding workshop was a great way to spend the morning! A very knowledgable and approachable tutor. A range of beautiful papers & threads were available to create four individualised variations, definitely inspired to continue. This is my second workshop at Kami Paper and both have been absolutely wonderful (Sumi Ink Painting).

I had a lovely morning with Michelle and the ladies from Kami learning about Japanese bookbinding. Michelle is a passionate paper artist and was very enthusiastic about passing along her knowledge. Each person received individual attention to troubleshoot any issues - or 'features' as we called them. The class was well structured to cater for people who work at different speeds and of course there was lots of beautiful paper to work with. Lovely refreshments were also provided. All in all, a great way to spend Saturday morning and learn something new.
