About the teacher:
Dinithi is one of our many talented entrepreneurs here at SisterWorks. She’s originally from Sri Lanka and came to Australia in 2017. Dinithi started paper quilling after having her baby. She spent a lot of time at home, and she decided to take on a hobby. She started making cards and paper based products, selling them, and they became very popular. She joined SisterWorks the same year she arrived in Australia and is now selling her paper products in our shop in Richmond and Toorak, and our online store.
SisterWorks is a not-for-profit social enterprise that exists to help women migrants, asylum seekers and refugees become financially independent and happily settled in Australia.

SisterWorks is a social enterprise.
We help women who are migrants, asylum seekers and refugees by providing them with skills and job opportunities, so they can become economically independent.
We are a family, we know learning a new skill and sharing our knowledge can support women and their communities.
Our Sisters have experienced social, economic or cultural marginalisation. They are working hard, taking care of their families and adjusting to living in Australia.
As migrants, refugees or asylum seekers, we have experienced various difficulties. We struggle because of the language barrier, cultural differences and the lack of local working experience.
We believe 'work empowers women.' Our aim is to support as many women as possible to move into work in their new homeland, Australia.
