Create a Button Tote
Use Buttons as your medium!
In line with the Pause Exhibition in our Main Gallery presented by Art Aviso, we are running button theme workshops!
In this full day class you'll learn to create a simple design for the front of a tote bag, before riffling through our huge button collection! We have gathered buttons from across the decades as well as some shiny new ones so that you can colour your design with a array of buttons. We'll then transfer your design to your tote bag and teach you the tips and tricks of gluing most your buttons onto the totes.
After a crash course in embroidery, you will then sew on your remaining buttons and embellish your design with embroidery floss. You will be able to take home your project at the end of the session and are welcome to continue to embellish your tote at home!
We will go over using colour and texture of the buttons to create depth and interest in your design, tips and tricks as well as our go to products to make sure everything stays put, basic embroidery stitches and button attachment patterns to create embellishments as well as a fabulous day out full of laughter, fun, and a delicious lunch.
Included is a delicious lunch will be provided created from all local organic produce and we are able to cater for any dietary requirements you may have. We also provide you with a divine afternoon treat and tea and coffee facilities are available throughout the course.
