Description

In this 3 hour workshop with Bats of Leisure you will learn a range of embroidery stitches and appliqué techniques that you will then use to create a piece of art to hang on your wall. You can choose to sketch up or bring along a design of your own or choose from a library of visual references.

We’ll provide you with all the materials you need to create a beautiful piece for your home, just bring along a willingness to get crafty!

ABOUT AARON AND AIOFE BILLINGS

We are a brother-sister team who run an art collective, Bats of Leisure. We make clothing focusing on the craftsmanship and the handmade. We are interested in sharing skills with the community and spreading the delight of making something for oneself. As an art collective we position ourselves against the mindless capitalism of fast fashion such as labels like H&M. We really feel like if more people would realise they could make or embellish items for themselves they would find this very rewarding and turn away from this easy and ethically dubious way of consuming. At the very least we wish to impart a sense of fun and accomplishment.
