Description

As part of Work-Shop Makery’s programme of activities and events on the theme of Upcycling in the month of June, we are delighted to have our neighbouring business, Beautiful Pages presenting an upcycling themed visual art workshop with us!

Collage fits into our current age more than any other artistic technique. We are faced with thousands of images everyday through snippets of television, film, advertising, posters, social media and our surrounding environment – some fleeting, while others linger in our mind. We repost, share, filter, control C & V, reference, quote, cite, create mood boards, and flow charts – all of which allow us to collage our ideas and creativity together. The medium of collage enables us to mix a range of cultural ideas and imagery to create something beautiful, new and impressive.

This workshop will show you how to create a multimedia collage artwork using recycled books, magazines and material from Beautiful Pages, through a range of hands-on collage concepts, techniques and methods. Whether you like to arrange, tear, cut, paste, stick, construct or deconstruct, this workshop will help you create the new from the existing, highlighting the diverse and exciting range of this medium.
