Body Painting for Beginners

Description

When she’s not starring on Instagram with her stunningly beautiful & terrifying creations, Tashi Honnery is a body artist – literally painting bodies! This can be anything from Ultraviolet to makeup. She can transform a person into a character or a piece of live art.

In this workshop, Tashi will share this passion and break down the stigma and taboo of body painting. Its just a body instead of a canvas really (& so much more fun!) She invites everybody to give it a go, you don’t have to have any previous experience in bodypainting, makeup or anything artistic except to be open to the idea of making a mess and seeing that it is actually a piece of art. The more paint thrown, sprayed and splattered over the canvas (people) the more fun and better the outcome!

About Tashi Honnery

I have been painting on anything my whole life, the school textbooks would have little flip books in the corner… I had to do something so after trying to find ‘something artistic’ I did a makeup course but still managed to turn even a bridal look into an artwork. In 2014 I came across the World Bodypainting Festival in Austria and of course applied… never expected to get in but I did so after doing a bit of bodypainting for 3 months I flew over and it changed my life… it actually gave me life.

I decided there was no other way I wanted to live so bodypainting it was. When I got back I started working as a bodyartist doing photoshoots, music videos and working on magazines with some of the most inspiring artists. I also work in the makeup industry but bringing my skills as a body artist to events like Melbourne Fashion Week for the Romance Was Born show and ID Magazine.
