Natural Botanical Dyeing - 09 Oct 2016 10:30 AM

A very enjoyable class with lots of hands on. Got a good understanding of how to produce natural dyes from plants ourselves as well as how to use commercially available natural products. Lots of time to play around with different fabrics and dyes, and plenty equipment around for us to try folding and timing techniques. Lack of drying time can be an issue if you use too much cochineal- bring containers to take your work home separately. A great taster workshop that sends you home wanting to do more.

Natural Botanical Dyeing - 09 Oct 2016 10:30 AM

I had a wonderful time learning how to make natural dyes from things easily found around the house or in the garden, and able to do it at home - no studio required !! Also learnt how to use the dye on a variety of natural fabric types and weaves, including various shibori / tie dye techniques. Introduction to mordent stamping and floral imprinting also interesting. A wonderful workshop with an experienced teacher. I hope to do more!
