Come and learn the beautiful and ancient Japanese resist-dyeing technique known as Shibori. In this class you will learn the basics of creating an indigo dye-bath using pre-reduced indigo crystals and Shibori techniques to generate unique patterns and designs.
Each piece will be unique and unexpected and use four different patterns/ styles, so you’ll learn several styles and methods. Shibori is fun to learn and something you can use at home to revamp your own furnishings and clothing!

Highlight was seeing how all the different designs by class members came out. That's the benefit of having a large group, the downside of a large group is maybe not getting to do what you'd like because you have to accommodate a lack of resources between everyone. Enjoyed the overall experience, great to have access to the space and equipment. Happy with what I produced, it was fun. Overall good value for price relative to classes available that are similar.
This is a fun and hands-on class, with no time wasted on too much theory. Some basic principles were written on a whiteboard, which was handy. We got to making and creating very quickly and the interaction was very friendly. It was really fun seeing the different creations laid out. The teacher was very available for questions and the craft is a very approachable one. I look forward to trying Shibori at home!
Taking home some amazing fabric swatches
