Yoga & Art: Clay Mandala Workshop

Description

Unleash your inner creative, reduce stress and increase mindfulness as you get your hands messy with the earthy goodness of mandala making.

We will begin this three hour workshop with a nourishing yin and yang yoga class followed by meditative practice of mandala making.

You will learn how to prepare clay for use, how to create a slab, how to use coils for decoration and how to join clay.

After the class your pieces will be kiln fired, making it usable and food-safe.

Please note: you will need to collect your fired piece from Work-Shop once it is ready!

ABOUT LAUREN HOWARD-TRIPP

Lauren Howard-Tripp is a Yoga and Meditation instructor as well as an Art Specialist Teacher in Melbourne. She has over 8 years of teaching experience over several continents. Throughout her adventures she recognized a desire in herself and others to create and connect but noticed that this was often blocked mostly by fear or self doubt. She decided to take FEAR in the palm of her hands and kiss it hard. To her, the practice of Yoga and the experience of creating (Art) are best when mixed together in one big flowing delicious artsy mess. She sees the union of these modalities as a gateway to explore boundaries and reconnect with ourselves. We find presence in process, we become the silent observer.

Her vision of uniting the Arts and Yoga led her to open her own business NamARTste which brings these elements together in unique events and workshops throughout Melbourne. NamARTste provides experiences which nurture and nourish the whole person, mind, body and spirit inviting participants to journey inward. To ask the questions which lead to more questions, to inspire and enrich thinking, to empower, learn, grow, evolve, awaken.

Lauren is a wonderful yoga and creative teacher, very light hearted and inspiring. She guided us through the workshop with her words of wisdom and inspired to open up our inner selves as well as connect with each other. She managed to create a beautiful environment and encouraged us in our creative expression.
