In this workshop, Nols from Concrete & Clay will show you how to create your own concrete planters to use in your home or to make as great gifts. You will cover the process of mixing and pouring the concrete into molds, followed by sanding, finishing and decorating a pre-made planter.
You will leave the workshop with with a personally decorated planter (with one small succulent / cactus provided), one planter and tea light holder curing in re-usable molds.
You will leave with the skills & knowledge of the techniques used to reproduce the planters on your own!
This can be a rather messy workshop so probably best to leave the couture at home - participants will have to roll up their sleeves, pull back their hair and get their hands dirty :)
About Concrete and Clay...
In her previous life (before children) Nols was a Art Director for some of Europe's biggest food & homes magazines which is where she developed her obsession of homewares.
After relocating to Sydney and leaving the publishing world Nols decided to follow her passion and turn her craft into a business and thus Concrete & Clay was born.
Originally it was just supposed to be a few pots & necklaces for a Christmas market and now it had become a thriving business!
Nols loves to experiment with all mediums - concrete, polymer clay, air dry clay, porcelain and resin!
All round fun class
It was good. The actual making of things was short, was mostly painting pots, but we had fun. Our teacher was super friendly and knowledgeable :).
