Macrame is a textile art that uses knots rather than weaving or knitting.Whilst most people will remember it as very retro 70’s craft it is actually much older! The Victorians were really into it too.
Whether you’re a beginner or have tried macrame before, this class will suit you.We cover the basic knots to build beautiful macrame pieces for your home, office or studio. You'll be using a beautiful Australian grown and made natural cotton rope.
Macrame workshops are a fun way to learn a new skill and to take something home that you can display and enjoy.Included in the class is also a plant and ceramic pot for you to hang as soon as you get home.It will be light enough to hang with a 3m hook, perfect for people who can't put holes in their walls!
About Maggie May, and The Middle Aisle...
Maggie is a macrame maker, graphic designer and stylist for her business, The Middle Aisle. She regularly posts on her Instagram @middleaisle about her life and being creative in Melbourne. She is passionate about working with Australian made materials and supporting local makers and craftspeople.
After discovering Macrame she immediately fell in love with the craft because of it's versatility for expression and creativity. Maggie creates 'improvised' macrame pieces and encourages her students to learn the basics in her classes so they can feel confident and continue making and crafting at home.
