Description

Learn the art of Mixed Media in this 2 hour experimental workshop with Nicole Black.

Branch out of your comfort zone with your current practice and push past creative blocks. This workshop is aimed at beginners wanting to gain confidence in various mediums or for those well versed in their artistic expression but looking to shake things up a bit!

In this workshop we will cover approaches to combining different mediums to achieve interesting results. You’ll learn new ways to mix unexpected mediums together, and by the end of the session you’ll be able to apply these ideas to creating a mixed medium collage.

ABOUT NICOLE BLACK

A compulsive experimenter at heart (creatively speaking) Nicole’s early artistic endeavors were nurtured and encouraged when she commenced her out-of-school art classes as a starry-eyed eleven year old. Over her teenage years she was exposed to various materials and approaches to art making and when it came time to select a university degree, she followed her heart and enrolled in a Bachelor of Visual Arts at the University of South Australia. Once she graduated  her creative education was not quenched and she made tracks to Victoria and enrolled into a Graphic Design course at Melbourne’s CATC. Her love for sharing creative ideas has resulted in a lecturing role at the said CATC campus, which she balances with developing her freelance illustration work. Her various dapplings have resulted in an experimental approach to art-making and a love for nurturing the creative process in others.
