About Michelle Organ (The Shop)...
Michelle holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Queen's University as well as a Bachelor of fine Arts in Product Design from Parsons The New School for Design, in Manhattan.
This education, along with multiple design internships, has led her to pursue work as a freelance designer. Her work is inspired by the world around her, exploring the boundary between the handmade and the mass-produced and in finding just the right balance between craft, play and the idea of simplistic beauty in design. She currently creates beautiful hand-crafted designs within the fields of ceramics and jewellery.
Michelle owns The Shop, Toronto's first multi-disciplinary makerspace with a focus on ceramics and crafts. In addition to providing the space and equipment to work, they offer a wide variety of workshops taught by local design professionals. They welcome makers, DIYers, and hobbyists from all skill levels to hone their ideas, learn new skills and be part of the vibrant, inspiring community. Check out The Shop!
