Have you always wanted to experiment with art materials, but haven’t found the confidence, time or the funds to play? Or maybe you want to live more creatively but need a little helping hand to get started? In a no-judgement zone, this workshop will help you connect with your inner artist and unleash your creative vibes by exploring a range of techniques and letting you get hands on with pastels, paints and ink. This isn’t about creating stellar works of art, it’s a chance for you to play (with as much or as little guidance as you need) to let you free the imagery hiding inside you. By unleashing your own creativity, people can experience a happier, less stressful lifestyle with improved resilience and problem solving skills.
Majella has always lived a life of art and craft.
She graduated from the Australian National University School of Art and her work has been awarded and acquired into a number of private collections nationally and internationally. She is a multimedia artist who works across a broad range of mediums and techniques such as photography, painting, textiles and printmaking. She is the Head Artist at Three Tides Artisan and facilitates art and craft workshops across Brisbane. Majella’s passion is to help people connect with their creativity to offset the rise of the ‘I-wish-I-was-creative’ epidemic. She is currently studying art therapy and is interested in how art and craft can be used to assist healing, balance and wellness in both adults and children. Learnt new techniques and was comfortable exploring some new creative expression.
I enjoyed this class immensely. While I am familiar with all the art media shown to us in class, I learned new ways of using those media. I also learned that I am still too impatient to do the colour wheel properly! The highlight of the class was Majella's gentle and generous teaching approach ... plus the take-home sample bag :-) I would happily recommend this class to my friends. I must also comment on the venue: it is terrific - a very nice place to while away a few hours on a Saturday morning, and the adjoining cafe is lovely. Thank you.
I learnt how to find my inspiration and that I can draw.
