Do you love to draw but need help taking it to that next level? Perhaps you would like to refresh your skills? Maybe you're a complete beginner but have always wanted to try portraiture? Rachelle Dusting will help you overcome the technical challenges of drawing and help to demystify the process for you! In this three hour workshop, you will gain an understanding of the tonal scale, its relationship to light and shadow and how utilise hatching, cross hatching and scumbling. Rachelle will teach you how to grid a photograph and guide you through methods of thorough observation. Using a diverse range of drawing materials, fun and experimental techniques, you will gain insight into Rachelles practice and the process of creating realistic portraits!

About the teacher: Rachelle graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor in Fine Arts Degree (Honours), from the University of Western Australia. Her studio is based in Perth’s south, where she works on private commissions and exhibition projects. Since graduating, Rachelle has spent time as a tutor at UWA, a Drawing Instructor with H.U. Kendall & Co, Jacksons Drawing Supplies, Inspired Living Foundation, Awesome Arts, and privately. Her works span several genres from whimsical illustration and murals, to realistic portrait painting. Rachelle's vision is to make a greater contribution towards WA’s creative culture and uplift the art community.

Cancelation & Refund Policy

REFUNDS

Work-Shop requires 72 hours notice in writing prior to the class for a full refund. If you miss this window, earn some extra karma points and give your ticket to one of your buddies. The tickets are fully transferable. Email learn@work-shop.com.au to organise a refund.

CANCELLATIONS

We’ll do our darndest to run all scheduled classes, however, let’s face it… sometimes shit happens! Most of our classes must have a minimum of 5 participants before we can put them on. In the event that a class is cancelled, students will be notified via email and entitled to a full refund or credit.

2.) PHOTO & VIDEO

I agree to give Work-Shop unrestricted publishing rights for any photographs or videos taken at Work-Shop classes and events or on Work-Shop’s premises. (Don’t worry, we’ll only these use to show others how much of a rad time you’re having through social media, newsletters, blogs, website and general Work-Shop promo material)

Rachelle is an phenomenal teacher. The content, her language and lesson pacing was fantastic. She was eager to help everyone during the hands-on activities as well.
