Description

Ever wanted to try stand-up comedy? We got your back.

In just a few short hours, you’ll learn to tell a joke on stage. And not a dad joke, either… we’re talking for real, hilarious Patton Oswalt-type shit. We’ll cover everything from how to structure a joke, approach the mic and even general confidence techniques.

You’ll also learn how to approach an open mic night, formulate a bit, remember your set and just generally be the Louis C.K. you know you are. There’s only one way to find out if you’ve got what it takes… and that’s to get up there. Don’t worry, we have beer.

The workshop was a really safe place to practise getting up in front of a bunch of people and trying to make them laugh. Emma did a great job of making sure we knew how to work the microphone first and then explained what makes things funny in simple terms. I admit I was a bit reluctant about going to this workshop - standing up in front of people in any situation always means taking myself out of my comfort zone. And I don't think most people who know me would describe me as being naturally funny. But I managed to surprise myself. Such a high!
