Hand-building with Clay: Ceramic Planters



Description

Come get your hands dirty in this introductry workshop where you will learn how to make ceramic planters with Melbourne Ceramist Laureen Lansdown from Lavallier Emporium. Create either hanging or freestanding planters that can be used to make your own little garden paradise! You will learn basic hand building, pinch potting and slab construction, as well as a range of decoration techniques, to create 2 - 3 custom planters.

Note: At the end of the workshop, all your creations will be taken off for firing in Laureen’s kiln, and will be ready for collection from Work-Shop in 2-3 weeks (or as advised).

ABOUT LAUREEN LANSDOWN FROM LAVALLIER EMPORIUM

After studying at the Victorian College of the Arts and exhibiting in galleries throughout Melbourne, Laureen began to explore the tactile and structural qualities of ceramics. From this establishing a creative practice Lavallier Emporium producing functional homewares and jewellery. She uses the inspiration of decadence and natural forms to create functional homewares. Her wares are stocked throughout Australia and have been featured in magazines and used by food stylist throughout Australia. Laureen has also taught as a Secondary Art teacher and enjoys imparting her creative knowledge to others.

Cancelation & Refund Policy

REFUNDS

Work-Shop requires 72 hours notice in writing prior to the class for a full refund. If you miss this window, earn some extra karma points and give your ticket to one of your buddies. The tickets are fully transferable. Email learn@work-shop.com.au to organise a refund.

CANCELLATIONS

We’ll do our darndest to run all scheduled classes, however, let’s face it… sometimes shit happens! Most of our classes must have a minimum of 5 participants before we can put them on. In the event that a class is cancelled, students will be notified via email and entitled to a full refund or credit.

Anyone partaking in any classes or coming to any events at Work-Shop or organised by Work-Shop must agree to these terms and conditions.

  •  Any damage, loss or theft incurred to personal property property brought into Work-Shop’s premises.
  • Any physical injuries sustained as a result of participating in any class or event organised by Work-Shop.

I agree to take on full responsibility for any damages, injuries and for physical and/or personal property, which I might incur whilst participating in classes and/or events organised by Work-Shop.

2.) PHOTO & VIDEO

I agree to give Work-Shop unrestricted publishing rights for any photographs or videos taken at Work-Shop classes and events or on Work-Shop’s premises. (Don’t worry, we’ll only these use to show others how much of a rad time you’re having through social media, newsletters, blogs, website and general Work-Shop promo material)

Such a great workshop, learnt heaps and feel inspired to do more. We had access to lots of tools, material and knowledge. I can't wait to pick up my pots!
