Ever felt that you are living life mindlessly? Over the last few years when you see the word 'mindfulness' it's often accompanied by the image of a mandala and that's usually on the front of a colouring book. But what is mindfulness and how can it actually benefit you, your health, your life and your relationships?
Mindfulness is a therapy technique that can help you overcome challenges including stress and anxiety. In this workshop through creativity you will learn what mindfulness actually is, some quick and simple techniques that will help you to practise it as well as different styles of mandalas and what they have to do with mindfulness.
By mastering this technique you will find yourself less stressed, less anxious as well as more present in your life and relationships. (Who doesn't want that?) You will leave the workshop not only empowered with new knowledge but a few pieces of art including your own mandala.
Larissa Moran from The Artspoken
Larissa is an Art and Drama Therapist who is passionate about creativity and using it to improve the quality of life. From her humble beginnings as a child performing for visitors in her family’s lounge room through to working in advertising and running a theatre company creativity has always been a part of Larissa’s life. After working in advertising creativity lost its sparkle so rather than using art for the bottom line Larissa decided to turn her love of creativity to help people rather than help sales targets.
Whether it is art, craft, music, singing, writing or acting Larissa has experienced and seen how creativity can not only entertain and look pretty but it can tell stories, change our mood and simply make the world a better place. Larissa has worked with many different groups and individuals from children through to the elderly, people who are disabled or ill through to the homeless. No matter your age or your circumstance with guidance the arts can help you to overcome challenges and achieve goals.
