Visual Artist, Singer/Songwriter and Educator M.E. Baird will present ‘The Ultimate (unfounded) Guide to Creative Thinking’. The presentation will discuss issues related to creative thinking and creative processes.
The workshop will be presented as an informal but informative discussion. It will blow the myth on the notion that only intellectuals wearing black and sipping latte’s have big ideas or understand big ideas.
As artists understanding how we think creatively and how to engage in a disciplined creative processes is paramount to sustaining not only our artistic practice but also perhaps our very existence.
For those who consider themselves not ‘artistic’ or ‘creative’ tapping into our ‘creative mind’ (we all have one) can make life just that bit more exciting.
Specific issues discussed will include:
- What is an idea, how to harvest them, how to grow the big one
- Creative blockage, what is it and how the break it
- Abstract thinking v’s literal thinking and how to go deeper
- A lively presentation and discussion surrounding creative thinking.
- Develop new ways of thinking about how you approach your own creative practice.
- Network and meet other local creatives and benefit from the insights of a professional artist and musician.
- Wine, Beer and Nibbles provided to facilitate the process of creative discussion!
- Bring a notebook, and an open mind!
Creatives and anyone interested in the creative process!
