Description
Enjoy a FULL day of SAORI handweaving explorations and learn to use a SAORI foot-operated weaving loom.
Hands-on instruction from experienced SAORI teacher, Heather Walters.
● Suitable for complete beginners and experienced weavers of all ages
● A SAORI loom warped and ready for each participant
● Wall of yarns and assorted fibres to select for your weaving
● Make your own hand woven cloth for a unique scarf, bag, cushion or wall hanging in just one day!
BYO lunch for energy to keep weaving. There will be plenty of plunger coffee and tea varieties available to make yourself a cuppa.
What you will learn
- You will be guided by your teacher to develop your own creative expression and skills with SAORI weaving. Possibilities only limited to your own imagination!

Appropriate for
Suited to ALL ages and abilities. No prior experience or skill needed! The Saturday workshop is suitable for ages 15 years and above.
SAORI is an exciting way of free-style weaving which allows anyone to create unique handwoven cloth. Suited to all ages, genders and abilities, SAORI weaving encourages people to follow their intuition as they enjoy exploring the creative process.
Art Weaver SAORI Studio is an internationally registered SAORI teaching studio and SAORI dealer. Founded in 2013 by Heather Walters, we have delighted in teaching hundreds of people to explore and develop their own hands-on creativity.
SAORI® is the trademark of the Sakaiseikisangyo Company in Osaka, Japan. It covers the principles, the method of teaching and the manufacture of looms and equipment.
Your Teacher
Heather has over 10 years experience introducing people to SAORI weaving, including zero-waste garment design and much more!
She makes regular visits to Japan to keep up to date with all things SAORI. As a very experienced adult educator in other fields, Heather's classes are warmly welcoming, inclusive and adaptive to student needs.
Art Weaver SAORI Studio has been an internationally registered teaching studio and dealer since 2014.
Cancellations & Refunds
If the organiser cancels the class:
You are entitled to a full refund.
If you can't attend the class:
You’re welcome to send someone in your place.
OR
- A refund can be requested 5 days before class starts. An admin fee of AU$5.00 applies.
- A transfer can be requested 2 days before the class starts. An admin fee of AU$5.00 applies.
- A credit note can be requested 5 days before the class starts. An admin fee of AU$5.00 applies.
No changes will be allowed after these times.
Terms & Conditions
Anyone partaking in any classes or coming to any events at Art Weaver SAORI Studio or organised by Art Weaver SAORI Studio must agree to these terms and conditions.
1.) LIABILITY WAIVER
I agree to take on full responsibility for any damages, injuries and for physical and/or personal property, which I might incur whilst participating in classes and/or events organised by Art Weaver SAORI Studio
2.) PHOTO & VIDEO
I agree to give Art Weaver SAORI Studio unrestricted publishing rights for any photographs or videos taken at Art Weaver SAORI Studio classes and events or on Art Weaver SAORI Studio premises. (For use of Art Weaver SAORI Studio marketing materials).
